The "Win a Nissan Juke from Canadian Direct" Contest (the "Contest") is open to legal residents of British Columbia and Alberta who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence. No purchase necessary.


Contest commences at 12:00am PT (Pacific Time) on October 1st, 2011 and closes at 2:59 p.m. PT on Sunday, November 27th, 2011 (the "Contest Period").

There is no purchase necessary to enter the Contest. To enter the Contest, complete and submit the online entry form available at either canadiandirect.com or sayyestosavings.com.

On the online entry form, eligible entrants must provide Canadian Direct Insurance (the "Contest Sponsor" or "Canadian Direct") with their name, address, phone number, email address and one of the following:

  1. (a) a valid Canadian Direct quote number. To obtain a Canadian Direct quote number entrants may call 1.888.225.5234 between October 1st, 2011 and November 27th, 2011 and request a no-obligation quotation for their home or auto insurance; or

  2. (b) their home or auto insurance expiry date. A representative from Canadian Direct will call them when their insurance is due.

To enter the Contest, entrants will need a valid email account and online access. Limited online access will be provided at the Canadian Direct site at the 2011 Grey Cup Street Festival during public festival hours. Although online access and a valid email account are required in order to participate in this contest, no purchase of any kind is required. Many public libraries, retail business and others offer free access to computers and a number of Internet service providers and other companies offer free email accounts

No responsibility will be taken for entries lost, misplaced, misdirected or delayed for any reason whatsoever.

LIMIT of one (1) entry per person and per email address. All entries must be submitted no later than the end of the Contest Period. Illegible, incomplete, duplicate, or late entries will be disqualified at Canadian Direct’s sole discretion. If it is discovered that any entrant has attempted to: (a) submit more than the permitted number of entries per person/email address; and/or (b) use (or attempt to use) multiple names, identities and/or more than one (1) email address to enter the Contest; then at the sole and absolute discretion of Canadian Direct, he/she may be disqualified from the Contest and all of his/her entries declared void.


Contest is open to Alberta and British Columbia residents who are the legal age of majority* or over except employees (and members of the immediate families of employees) of Canadian Western Bank and Trust and Canadian Direct and their respective affiliates, advertising agencies, the contest judging organization and the supplier of prizes.

*Note: The age of majority is 19 years in British Columbia and 18 years in Alberta.


Prize: There is one Grand Prize available to be won in the contest, consisting of one (1) 2011 Nissan Juke SV-AWD (All Wheel Drive), Automatic, VIN: #JN8AF5MVXBT022034 (the "Vehicle" or "Grand Prize" or "Prize"). Approximate retail value of Prize before freight, pre-delivery expenses (PDE) and applicable taxes is CDN $22,000.

The Grand Prize will be delivered with standard equipment, as described above. Exact package, factory options, and other Prize specifics to be determined by the Contest Sponsor in its discretion. Contest Sponsor does not make, and is not in any manner is responsible or liable, for any warranty, representation or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the Vehicle including but not limited to its quality, fitness for purpose or mechanical condition.

The Grand Prize Winner ("Winner") is responsible for all expenses associated with acquiring ownership in the Grand Prize including, but not limited to, title transfer, licence, license plates, registration, insurance, and Prize pick up as well all expenses relating to receipt and use of the Vehicle such as but not limited to, extended warranty, maintenance fees, fuel costs (the "Expenses"). The Sponsor will be responsible for all applicable taxes, freight and PDE, as well as removal of the Vehicle Promotional wrap. All other costs not specifically stated herein as being included in the Grand Prize are the responsibility of the Winner. The Grand Prize winner shall not seek reimbursement for the Expenses from the Contest Sponsor.

Manufacturer's warranty applies to the Grand Prize. After being declared the Winner, upon notification, the Winner will personally take delivery of the Vehicle at their own expense from Canadian Direct or the dealership designated by the Contest Sponsor within one (1) month of being declared the winner. Winner must present adequate personal identification to claim the Grand Prize. The Grand Prize will not be released unless Winner first shows proof of having: (a) a valid driver's licence in the province in which he/she resides; (b) satisfactory insurance, and (c) license plates. Failure to show same may result in prize forfeiture and selection of an alternate winner.

Prize must be accepted as offered and no substitution is allowed. Prize is not transferable and is not convertible to cash.

The Contest Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to substitute the Grand Prize with another vehicle, or other prize (including without limitation, but at Sponsor’s sole and absolute discretion, a cash award), of equivalent or greater value, or of a different model year, for any reason whatsoever including, but not limited to: production delays caused by labour disruptions, part shortages, adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen events, or any other reasons beyond the Contest Sponsor’s reasonable control.


Chances of winning the Grand Prize will depend on the number of eligible entries received. A random selection will be made on or around November 28th, 2011 from all eligible, single, unduplicated online entries received. All decisions of the judges with respect to all aspects of the contest are final.

The Grand Prize selected entrant will be notified by phone or email no later than 4:00 p.m. PT on December 5th, 2011 and must confirm receipt of such notice by phone or email within three (3) business days of such notification, failing which he or she will forfeit the Prize and the Prize will be awarded to the next drawn entry as applicable. Canadian Direct is not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of a selected entrant to receive notification or for Canadian Direct to receive a selected entrant's confirmation of receipt of such notification within the time limit set out above.


Before being declared a winner the selected entrant must correctly answer a time-limited, skill testing, mathematical question posed during a pre-arranged telephone interview or by email.

Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant will be required to sign a declaration and release form ("Release") and initial a copy of these rules and regulations attached thereto. By entering, accepting the prize, signing the Release and initialling a copy of these rules, the winner acknowledges:

  1. (a) compliance with contest rules and acceptance of the prize as offered;

  2. (b) the non-responsibility of Canadian Western Bank and Trust, Canadian Direct, their respective affiliates and agents and the supplier of prizes in respect of injuries, accident, loss or misfortune relating to the prize;

  3. (c) Canadian Direct and its agents’ right to publish or broadcast the winner's picture, name, address, voices and/or statements without further compensation other than the prize offered.

All entries become the property of Canadian Direct and none will be returned. Communication with entrants will be entered into with respect to this Contest to offer no obligation quotes on entrants’ home and or auto insurance.

Canadian Direct reserves the right to cancel this promotion at any time for any reason whatsoever.

If a selected entrant is unwilling or unable to comply with these contest rules, that entrant will be disqualified and another entry will be drawn from the remaining eligible entries received.

By claiming the prize the selected entrant waives the right to claim any costs of winning any prize including, without limitation, any and all costs of verification and redemption or travel to redeem the prize, and bears in full any liability which might arise from redeeming or seeking to redeem said prize.

The contest is subject to all Federal, Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations.

Canadian Direct and its agents are not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any e-mail or entry to be received by Canadian Direct on account of technical problems, or any combination thereof.
